2010 San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival
From Thursday, September 16th until Sunday, September 20th, the 2010 San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival will host the hottest dance party of the weekend at the Town & Country Resort & Convention Center located at 500 Hotel Circle North in San Diego, California. This beautiful resort is in the heart of San Diego and boasts thousands of rose bushes, palm trees, a 27-hole championship golf course, and luxury shops that are close by.
The festival will provide plenty of entertainment for the locals and visitors through its jam-packed schedule of workshops, parties, and performances. Like Salsa Congresses, the festival has a pre-party event with a group Salsa class at 8 p.m., followed by social dancing and performances by local dance teams on Thursday night. From Friday through Sunday, the festival offers attendees Salsa and Bachata dance workshops for all levels, vendors selling Latin music, dance shoes and accessories, as well dance apparel, a Bachata film screening, and competitions, dance shows, and social dancing until 3 a.m.
Additionally, dancers can attend a free Salsa pool party on Saturday and Sunday where there will be BBQ, a fully stocked bar, games and contests with prizes, along with DJs playing Salsa music poolside. For the ultra confident, dancers can participate in a male and female swimsuit contest.

For those looking to take workshops at the festival, the 2010 San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival has top tier instructors to teach the beginner to the advanced dancer. Attendees can take dance instruction from the current reigning World Salsa Champions Luis Aguilar and Anya Katsevman, winners of the 2010 New York Salsa Congress Competition, or from Griselle Ponce, a top professional Salsa dancer, or from Ricardo Tellez and Tianne Frias, beloved Bay area dancers from the San Francisco Salsa scene.
Carlos Cintas will be teaching Domincan Style Bachata while Zeke from Chicago and Rodney Aquino from San Francisco will teach intermediate and advanced Bachata partnering, patterns, and styling. Other instructors include Serena Cuervas, David and Jennifer Stein of Majesty in Motion, Osmar Perrones of Yamulee Dance Company, John Narvaez and Liz Rojas of SalsaMania Dance Company, Sergio and Gaby of Alma Latina Dance Company, Victor & Burju of Hacha Y Machete, Andy Cruz and Kimberly Rivera, and many more.
